Martin Leighton was born in 1951 in Monstrose, Scotland.

Martin has lived in the beautiful county of Dorset for the past 48 years.  He is a self-taught artist specialising in oils on canvas and he has been painting for over 30 years.

He paints a variety of subjects including landscapes, seascapes and figurative studies.

The enigmatic poses and Martin's ability to capture his subject make his work alive in colour and gripping in content.

It all started as a hobby,  but his work has progressed to a professional level with several paintings now being published as limited edition prints.

His work is in collections not only in the UK,  but also in Australia, USA and South Africa.
